As a Senior J2EE Architect, you will be part of the Application Architecture group. You will be responsible for technically implementing the requirements to support the rapid evolution of our enterprise application architecture initiatives. You will interface across organizations as diverse as engineering, middleware, and database. These organizations will look to you for code and architecture review, alignment with standards, selection of productivity tools and IDEs, resolution of performance issues, etc. The ultimate goal of your team is to increase the productivity of developers across all organizations and improve software quality as well.
You will provide hands-on technical design and implementation skills and experience as well as development leadership working closely with the central application engineering and business aligned application development teams. You will design and develop technical solutions and frameworks which will enable and improve the application architecture improvements from an enterprise perspective. You must be a technical evangelist for best practices in design and architecture! Reports to: Manager of the Application Engineering Group Duties/Responsibilities

This role breaks down to roughly 40% hands-on development, 35% design/architecture practices, and 25% leadership
Implement technical solutions to improve the global application architecture in terms of performance, availability, and scalability
Provide practical and detailed application design solutions which address the needs of global enterprise applications
Technically contribute at both the design and code level
Develop common solutions which are useable across many applications and adaptable to global requirements
Manage risk identification and mitigation strategies associated with development projects and architectures
Stay current with evolving industry and technical trends to ensure global architecture is of the highest standard and caliber
Collaborate with the application development teams on numerous matters
Participate and lead tool evaluation and selection efforts
