Description
Our client is seeking an OOA/OOD, Java expert for large-scale, enterprise-wide corporate applications. This is an opportunity to be a part of an Oracle development team building key "mission critical" applications. In the role of Senior Java Developer, you will be asked to perform the object-oriented analysis, design, development, and testing of complex Java applications.

This role demands a solid background in Java with extensive experience with JMS, Oracle PL/SQL, stored procedures, and UNIX. Candidates must be able to demonstrate analytical skills, business knowledge, and Internet experience to propose value-added technology solutions for the business challenges (reducing costs, improving service, and increasing innovations).

The ideal candidate has delivered systems and services that meet or exceed Service Level Agreements (SLA) while identifying and implementing continuous improvements for system availability or services.

Candidates must be able to solve complex system integration problems involving hardware, software, communications and outside vendors to minimize downtime of application systems and services. Candidates also must be able to perform technical quality assurance reviews for development staff, mentor team, and provide guidance and support as needed.

Technical Skills and Experience
  • 10+ years Information Technology experience
  • 5+ years of Java / J2EE experience in a client/server development and support environment
  • 7+ years RDBMS experience using Oracle
  • 5+ years of UNIX and/or operating systems experience
  • 2+ years of Java Messaging System
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentor abilities
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills and strong presentation skills

    Additional Technical Skills
  • Evidence of successful implementation of complex, "HIGH TRANSACTION" projects as defined by meeting performance levels and budget constraints
  • Experience reviewing, developing, and enforcing software development policies and procedures
  • Experience coordinating internal and external integration events and implementing recommendations
  • Familiarity with UNIX development tools, utilities, and third-party software
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to analyze processes and recommend improvements

    Desired Skills and Knowledge
  • Experience with IP Intranet/Internet Security environments
  • Experience with HP OpenView, and SQL Database environments
  • Experience with Information Security best practices
  • Experience with ERP systems (Lawson, Siebel, third party systems) a PLUS!

    Education
    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
