Currently our client is seeking a Senior Java Software Developer to join their growing team.

DESCRIPTION

  • Position requires travel as necessary (up to 10%)
  • Ability to directly interface and support various types of clients and efforts (both internal and external)
  • Manipulate & reformat data and define new data elements
  • Generate system documentation & other technical writing
  • Understanding of appropriate software testing & quality control best practices and methodologies
  • Generate and format reports


Role Purpose:


Under the direction of senior personnel, develop, maintain and support company products and services. Maintain and modify existing application software based on new software release requirements. Provide system support on production issues, user and tester needs. Work involves interaction with Software Testers, Software Managers and User Groups. May provide support and training to junior team members.





MAJOR JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Provide application analysis/design and coding for all software assignments
  • Provide accurate and efficient software in accordance with design specifications
  • Provide complete unit testing for all software assignments
  • Provide documentation for software assignments, consistent with applicable standards
  • Provide application support on production issues
  • Work with Cross-Functional Teams to program, validate and coordinate software implementation
  • May assure that applications that support company products are maintained in working order on a 24x7 basis


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 8 years current programming experience with Java
  • Experience in the design, development, and implementation of software and systems on a Unix platform
  • Ability to develop programming specifications from high level business or functional requirements
  • Ability to develop programs from detailed specifications
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work independently would definitely be a plus
  • Experience with ASP, .Net, and/or C/C++ a plus
  • Experience with Windows Server 2003 a plus
