Senior Java Back-End Developer

This company is searching for qualified candidates to fill a Java Backend Developer position within the IT department.

The successful candidate will join the IT development team responsible for in-house application design and development at this client. The position will require the ability to work with other IT members and also non-technical personnel to understand, analyze, and develop solutions for business automation needs. The position requires the ability to work independently as well as within a small team.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities (Other Duties May Be Assigned)

• Development of Back End Java applications used primarily for file-based integrations with partner companies and clients.
• Participate in the design and development of a higher-performance batch processing framework.
• Participate in the design and development of tools used to configure and monitor scheduled jobs.

• Minimum of 4-5 solid years of Java
• Experience with Spring
• Experience with Object Relational Frameworks such as Hibernate
• Solid understanding of Object Oriented Programming and Analysis
• Knowledge of service-oriented implementation approaches desired
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Bachelor Degree in a logic oriented discipline (Engineering, Computer Science, etc.)
• Must be detail oriented, organized, and have the ability to multi-task.
• Must be flexible with a "can do" attitude and have the ability to remain professional under high pressure situations.
• Must be a Type A person with a proven desire to get things done
• Experience using Eclipse, CVS, and Maven a plus
• Programming experience in Insurance industry is a plus
