Senior Java Developer - All Skills Must Location: Whippany, NJ Duration: 8 Months Job Description The Senior Java Developer will be a key member of the RACS development team, a Java-based internal risk management system. The Senior Java Developer will be involved in the full project life cycle while working with project managers and business user representatives to analyze requirements, and design and implement effective technical solutions. The candidate needs to be a self-starter with a ?can-do? attitude and the right mix of technical skills and business knowledge. The ideal candidate will have excellent software development and design skills and 5 or more years experience developing large-scale Java applications. Experience with J2EE is a strong plus. Job Responsibilities include: - Extensive hands-on Java Development. - Application development dealing with Large Scale Distributed Systems. - Strong Background with Clearcase Source Code Control Management and Ant/Maven Build Deploy Tool. - Experience with Application Framework design and implementation. - Experience with developing Application Standards and managing code reviews process. - Translating Business Requirements into system designs. - Hands on experience on coding, troubleshooting and application performance tuning. - Ability to balance strategic and tactical solutions. Minimum Requirement Platforms: Must be proficient in Windows and UNIX/Linux platforms. Database Systems: Must be familiar with relational database. Oracle is a plus. Other Programming Skills: Minimum of 5-7 years of in-depth Java development experience. Minimum of 3 years of in-depth experience developing and documenting system designs, utilizing UML and design patterns (where applicable). Should possess strong knowledge of Clearcase Source Code Control Management and Ant/Maven Build Deploy Tool. Experience as a Developer for a mission critical application. Practical experience with high volume data processing applications. Business Knowledge: Experience in the Securities Industry, and risk management, are a strong plus. Project Experience : This position requires a minimum of five to seven years as a developer on large-scale applications, which includes at least four years of hands-on development experience. Communication Skills:Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Includes the Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally to peers and management.df-tc
