Description
A Senior Engineer is a project team member involved through most of the lifecycle.
Specifically, this person plays a senior technical role starting in an advisory capacity
during requirements, through hands-on work in analysis, design and
implementation, then returning to an advisor and bug fixing role during testing and
QA. This person will participate in engagements and/or meetings that have
technical constituents. Responsibilities will vary depending on the phase of the
engagement. The person that fills this role should be comfortable with all Artifacts
of each of the aforementioned workflows: able to create, advise, expand, improve
and utilize each. The Senior Engineer's primary focus must be a robust, well
documented, easily maintainable code base that realizes client needs as stipulated
in the requirements set. Responsibilities: - Build/Implement software
components that comply with the application architecture and detailed design -
Build/Implement software applications that realize the technical architecture as
created by the project's Architect and that remain compliant to user and business
requirements - Execute projects including e-Business sites and Web-enabled
business applications, as well as execute technology and information systems
engineering in general - Write detailed design specifications of individual
components - Write detailed level technical assessments - Assist in the writing of
test cases for various testing phases - Research industry best practices and
alternative technical implementations - Research and recommend potential
development tools - Assist in the creation and writing of detailed level technical
requirements / specifications and documentation in concert with the project's
Business Analyst and Requirements Lead. These must conform to project standards
- Debug and trouble shoot - Manage and mentor in-house Component Engineers
- Screen and interview potential Component Engineers The primary responsibility
with any Engineer is to implement, develop and code according to project
standards and the necessary and sufficient set of best practices to ensure a
successful engagement. Senior Engineers should also be able to exercise a certain
level of leadership and vision for the team within and across projects.


Qualifications: - MS or BS in Computer Science or equivalent education - Strong
expertise in technologies such as ASP/COM, ASP.NET, Java, SQL and XML/XSL, with a
minimum of 4+ years experience in preferably two of these. Certification in
mentioned technologies is desired - Deep knowledge and experience with both
Microsoft technologies and J2EE development is preferred - 4+ years experience
with the systems life cycle and process (e.g. RUP) - 4+ years experience with
OOA&D (Object Oriented Analysis & Design) and UML - 4+ years experience with
N-tier architecture - 4+ years experience with content management system
requirements - 2+ years experience with application servers such as ATG's
Dynamo, IBM's WebSphere, BEA's Weblogic is a plus - Experience with database
technologies, i.e. Oracle, DB2 and/or SQL Server - Experience with server-side and
client-side technologies - Strong communication skillsdf-tc
