Description

BGI is looking for a Java/J2EE developer with the following skills:

7 or more years of experience in Java/J2EE development, preferably using WebSphere application server, and Rational Application Developer (RAD 6.0).
Extensive experience in Application design, architecture, development and implementation of software projects using Object-Oriented Java technologies.
Experience in designing and developing transactional processing applications.
Experience in Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
Must be articulate, mature, and a team player.
Leadership qualities and a proven track record of successfully managing the technical aspects of the application development process from design and development to implementation.
Must be able to apply best practices while maintaining team synergy.
Extensive knowledge of and experience in applying design-patterns.
Extensive knowledge of Use Case and incremental development approaches using RUP Methodology.
Expertise with Servlets, Java Server Pages, EJB, Swing, JDBC, Struts, Ant and JUnit.
Expertise and experience with WebSphere, and Rational products.
Expertise and experience with ORM tools such as Hibernate or TopLink.
Deep knowledge of Eclipse IDE and Java/J2EE frameworks including security, transactions, exception handling and persistence.
Experience with light-weight containers such as Spring.
Experience with XML and XSL/XSLT.
Experience with SQL and design of logical data model.
Familiarity with Aspect Oriented Programming (AOP).
Familiarity with Rich Internet Applications (RIA) containers such as Macromedia Flex.
Familiarity with LDAP and Novell eDirectory Server.

Databases: Oracle, eDirectory
Application Servers: IBM WebSphere, Spring Framework, JBoss, Apache Tomcat, Apache HTTP Server, Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS)
Testing: Rational Robot
Desktop Tools: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Visio, Project, PowerPoint,)
Build and Deployment tools: Ant
Requirements and Source Code Repository: CVS, MS Visual Source Safe
Operating Environments: Solaris, Linux
