Description
Perot Systems Corporation is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. We are currently looking for a Senior (Lead) Database Administrator to join our team in Providence, RI.

Job Responsibilities:
Incumbent will plan and coordinate the administration of computerized databases (including relational databases) to ensure accurate, appropriate and effective use of data, including database definition, structure, documentation, long-range requirements and operational guidelines.

Specifically:
  • Manage the departmental work load in a role that will be 75% hands-on and 25% leading, monitoring and mentoring the remaining team members
  • Determine, schedule and monitor team members' work assignments
  • participate in Project evaluations to help determine to what extent, if any, DB Admin needs to be involved
  • Assist in the development of Project Estimates
  • Work collaboratively to define, implement and manage department-wide processes and procedures
  • The successful candidate will posses solid communication skills, written communication skills and an ability to effectively exchange ideas and information.

    Required Skills:
  • Senior Level Data Base Administration/Analysis skills
  • A minimum of 5+ years' experience with Distributed Client Server environments
  • Oracle (9.2, 9i, 10g), OEM, TOAD experience
  • A minimum of 4 years' experience with UDB, SQL Server, and RDBMS/AIX
  • Database monitoring, performance tuning, backup & recovery skills
  • Resource and project/work management experience

    Desired Skills:
  • IMS, DB2, VSAM Mainframe DB admin skills
  • Healthcare experience
  • Oracle DBA certification preferred

    Minimum Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor levelly degree in Computer Science, MIS or Business Administration
