xScion Solutions is an Information Technology professional services firm supporting leading commercial clients in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. We are currently supporting a large healthcare insurance company with some of their key hiring needs and are looking for a Senior J2EE Developer/Designer. This is an exciting opportunity to do new development with a solid, established company in the rapidly growing healthcare industry.

Senior/Lead Java J2EE Developer/Designer
Permanent Position
Salary: $93-$98K + 8% annual bonus at target
Washington, D.C.

Must be local to Washington, D.C., and a Citizen, Green Card holder, or EAD. The client is not sponsoring H-1Bs at this time.

There are multiple new development projects in the early stages including a Health Savings Plan and a Claims Enhancement project.

Tasks:
Perform full life-cycle activities in support of the project which will include:
1. Provide system architecture design based on our standard template
2. Provide detailed technical design based on our standard template
3. Provide web design prototypes
4. Make recommendations on best storage solutions
5. Conduct Unit testing and integration testing
6. Document system design, development and Unit testing, and transfer maintenance work to FEPOC internal developers

Skills:
This position requires a BA/BS in computer science or equivalent experience, and more than 8 years professional software development experience in object-oriented language, including minimum of 6 years experience with Java and J2EE. Specific requirements include, but not limited to:
" Experience with software development best practices (RUP, XP, Agile)
" Strong hands on experience with UML
" Excellent object oriented analysis and design patterns/techniques with emphasis on Java/J2EE technology
" Extensive hands on experience with Java, J2EE, EJB, JSP, JDBC, Hibernate, JMX, JMS, Log4J
" Wide breadth of knowledge across many Java Open-Source technologies including Ant, Struts, Spring, XML parser technology, SOA based infrastructure, JUnit and HTTPUnit
" Excellent application performance tuning skills
" Experience with RDBMS (DB2, Oracle or MS SQL)
" Experience with web design
