Description
The Lead Developer is a senior member of the Integrate Production Environment (IPE) Products team. This team builds and maintains the user interface applications for mission-critical video production systems for television networks. Sample projects include media asset management systems, digital video archives, and catalog/search systems. The Lead Developer will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of Products team and will work closely with other members of the IPE development teams through the full systems lifecycle including requirements capture, design, development, testing, and deployment.

Qualified candidates will have previous experience working on medium- to large-scale, mission critical production systems that directly support essential business or technical functions. The lead developer will be able to demonstrate solid experience managing the creation of browser-based user interfaces that support critical business workflows. The candidate will be fluent in standard browser technologies such as JavaScript, DHTML, and CSS as well as server side Java and J2EE. The candidate should be very familiar with SOA and will have practical experience with the Web 2.0 development paradigm.

Practical experience in the key disciplines of object-oriented software engineering including OOA, OOD, OOP, and testing of OO systems is required. The Lead Developer is required to have solid system engineering (e.g., technical and application architectures, database, operating systems, networking) skills in addition to application development skills.

Experience/Skills
BS in Computer Science or related field required; MS in Computer Science or related field preferred

Four or more years of user interface design experience

At least three years of experience working with Java/J2EE

Two or more years experience with J2EE application servers, preferably Websphere

Very strong working knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, XML/XSL and associated technologies, including demonstratable experience using JavaScript in a highly OO environment.

At least two years experience building and delivering distributed systems that perform critical business or operational functions, preferably in a real- or near-real time environment

Two or more years experience with digital video and audio systems development is preferred

Candidates must demonstrate excellent OOA and OOD skills

Experience with cataloging, library, search, or other record and meta-data intensive systems preferred

Three or more years experience developing systems with Oracle or DB/2. Candidates must have working knowledge of SQL

Other desired skills:
BS in Computer Science or related field required; MS in Computer Science or related field preferred

Four or more years of user interface design experience

At least three years of experience working with Java/J2EE
