Description
Millennium Consulting currently has a position for a Senior/Lead Specialist to work with our client's Windows Server Application Support team. You will be responsiblefor two main areas; You will provide support for key Windows Server Based applications and participate in projects to support new or existing application infrastructure. The Windows Server Application Support functions include the administration & maintenance of Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 servers and layered products used in support of clients applications. This includes Microsoft products such as IIS, SQL Server, terminal server, ISA Server and 3rd party products such as QAS, NetIQ AppManager, and ConfigureSoft ECM and GIS systems. Experience with WMI and/or VBScript to automate administrative tasks is desired. Other job functions will include gathering requirements, ensuring consistency with company standards, working with product vendors on installations & upgrades, adhering to change control and release/configuration management policies, and creating documentation. In addition, the position will be required to support application releases to production. These releases are typically performed after normal business hours. Off-hours infrastructure support will be required on a rotating basis.Requires - A college or technical degree is required, with a desire to obtain related technical certifications - Prefer MCSEMCSA certifications - Requires a minimum of 2-3 years of windows application support experience including IIS and multi tier application troubleshooting. - Required technologies include Windows 2000 & 2003, IIS 5.0, Active Directory, TCP/IP concepts, relational DB concepts, and a familiarity of web application architectures for 2 and three tier web applications. - Knowledge of the following technologies is highly desirable: IIS 6.0, ASP.NET, Windows Scripting using WMI and VBScript, ISA Server Plumtree Portal 4.5WS/5.0, QAS, Windows Security, Configuresoft, NetIQ performance monitoring, and knowledge of insurance systems. - A demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies - Applicants are required to have strong user & computer support skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. This includes solid analytical, troubleshooting, written and verbal communications skills.Our client will start the interview process with a phone screen, but then requires a personal interview.
