Senior Level Engineering Manager needed for IT Defense Integrator!

Our client who is a large IT Defense Integrator, is seeking a Senior Level Software Engineering Manager to provide consulting support to the Product Manager Joint-Automatic Identification Technology (PM-J-AIT) on the In-Transit Visibility (ITV) contract. The qualified candidate will manage a staff of 33-internal Unisys employees and subcontractors.

*To clarify, this role is NOT a Project nor Program Management role.*

.*Required responsibilities required will be as follows:

• Responsible for all engineering activities worldwide including application development, production support for regional server locations, information assurance standards, and strategic technology planning.


• 
  The qualified candidate will work closely with PM-J-AIT Sytems Chief to deliver services to the Systems Chief and their DoD customers.
  
  
• 
  They will implement and maintain standard technical business processess into the Engineering Team.
  
  
• 
  They will manage all existing engineering related Service Level Agreements (SLA's) including the montly reconcilliation of perfomrance. Negotiate new SLA and develop automated methods to support monthly reconciliations.
  
  
• 
  The qualified candidate must have the ability to brief the Senior Executives and Military Officers on technical subjects relating to ITV. They will continue to drive the transition from Legacy technology to emerging technologies and support DoD techology directives.
  
  
• 
  The Engineering Manager will negotiate the impct of changing priorities on the available technical resources when needed.
  
  
• 
  Conduct technical reach back in to organization and partner organizations to meet requirements.
  
  
• 
  Build and deliver technology decision briefs.
  
  
• 
  Represent PM-J-AIT in technical and operation briefings and conferences.
  
  
• 
  They will also manage a very diverse team of technologists and identify opportunities to increase the level of consulting services delivered.
  

REQUIRED SKILL SETS:

• Must be organized, disciplined, flexible, results oriented and decisive with a "Can Do" attitude.
  
• Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage strong personalities.
  
• Must currently possess strong presentation, written, communicative and interpersonal skill traits.
  
• Must have a solid grasp on a range of technology areas an prior hands-on technical experience.

PREFERRED SKILL SETS:

• 
  Desirable knowledge in technical applications/systems: Oracle Fusion, Solaris, Web Service and SOA.
  
  
• 
  Previous experience with Data Management and Manipulation desirable.
  
  
• 
  Knowledge of CMMI and DoD Supply Chain experience.
  

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science Information Technology or equivalent experience required.
  
• Master's Degree a plus.

TRAVEL ALLOWANCE:

• There will be anywhere from 10-25% travel time needed to be allotted.
