Description
Position: Senior Java Developer
Location: Staten Island, NY 10301 (there is periodic travel to clients as specified in the job requirements)
6 Month contract to hire

Scope of work:
1) Looking for someone who will spend bulk of time developing applications but with periodic customer interaction to capture requirements and deploy solutions. (travel to client site)
2) Will be responsible for requirements, development and delivery of J2ee software solutions.
3) 5+ Developing software applications.
4) 4+ years experience developing with Java required.
5) 4+ years experience developing with J2EE required.
6) Experience developing and deploying Web based J2EE applications
7) Experience Maintaining J2EE applications
8) Solid SQL development background
9) Exposure to database design and tuning
10)Good communication skills
11) Good Documentation skills
12) Exposure and experience in leading small development teams
13) Understanding of Software development life cycle.

Specific skills
Eclipse(or similar), JDBC, Struts, JNDI, XML

Helpful
WebSphere 5 or 6
DB2 7,8 or 9
Java Swing experience
Java Certification
Linux, Shell scripting
