Description
Senior Localization Release Engineer Participate in the design, planning, and implementation of release engineering strategies to support efficient localization releases. Work closely with Project Management, Engineering and Quality Assurance to define localization best practices in the creation of software localization kits. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Perform technical analysis of projects, qualify assets for translation and develop requirements for localization projects - Identify internationalization problems in source code and propose solutions to correct issues. - Influence localization standards and direction - Define and champion innovative release strategies - Dedication and willingness to learn independently and in a team environment - Develop, document and implement new processes and procedures - General technical support for localization team - Dealing with and processing specific file formats for translations QUALIFICATIONS: - 5+ years experience in developing software localization kits - Experience with Unicode, locale issues and NLS support - Experience automating build and release processes to support localization kits - Experience using configuration management systems such as ChangeMan DS, Rational ClearCase, PVCS, Visual SourceSafe, CCC, etc. - Experience using defect tracking systems such as ChangeMan ALM, Rational ClearQuest, PVCS Tracker, TeamTrack, etc. - Proficiency in Windows 95/98, NT, XP, 2000, UNIX environments - Solaris, AIX, HPUX, Linux, scripting languages (Perl, Python, ksh Thompson Toolkit), programming skills (C, C++, C# or Java), Installer technologies, and much more. - Project lead experience - B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent - Serena is an equal employment/affirmative action employer F/F/D/V-EOE Job Title: Senior Localization Release Engineer Primary Skills: Unicode; ChangeMan DS; Unix; Windows; Perl; Java; C++; C# Job Industry: Information Technology Vacancies: 1 Job City: San Mateo Job Metro Area: San Mateo Job State: CA Job Country: US Salary: DOE Hours per Week: 40 Start Date: 05/19/2005 Job Duration: Direct Placement Detailed Job Duration: NA Degree Type: BS Degree Area: Computer Science Experience Minimum: 5 Years Certificates/Licenses: Candidates responding to this posting must currently possess the eligibility to work in the United States.
