Job Description: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Qualifications (Competencies):
Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering required, MSME preferred
10-15 years experience in Advanced Technology and Engineering; precision, automated optical equipment environment (motion control, microscopy, metrology, lithography, etc.).
Strong understanding of Dynamics, Structures, Vacuum, Cryogenics, etc.
Individual contributor with leadership skills
Proven leadership experience (approximately 2-4 direct reports with down-line responsibility for 6 people who are technicians, machinists, etc.)
1. Hands-on, participatory, leadership style more like a team Captain or Player/Coach than a hands-off Manager. (fairly extensive machine shop on-site)
2. Strong project management skills
3. Strong communications, interpersonal and people influence skills.
Must have successfully implemented significant scale-up and quality improvement projects within the Mechanical Engineering realm
Significant experience with process, quality control and legal compliance (ITAR environment a plus)
Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and the client community
