Position Summary:

This position requires the applicant to assume the lead for conducting timely, value-added information research relevant to the oncology therapeutic area using primary and secondary information sources, information analysis, competitor profiling and by facilitating access to pertinent, high quality information. The applicant will also proactively and reactively communicate actionable recommendations and implications and integrate competitive insights into decision making with key Millennium business units. Other responsibilities will include involvement in team-based projects and support of other Scientific & Competitive Analysis colleagues during times of high demand.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Build relevant scientific and information analysis skills, particularly in relation to searching competitor information and scientific literature. Proactively establish working relationships with project and development teams to understand and anticipate their competitive intelligence and scientific information needs. Collaborate with the Oncology Commercial Teams, R&D scientists and other Information Analysts to provide value-added information analyses in support of the drug development process. Create focused competitive intelligence reports and news updates for specific customer groups as appropriate. Perform thorough in-depth searches relevant to areas of key strategic interest to Millennium. Evaluate and make recommendations concerning information sources, retrieval and strategy for key customers. Contribute to the development and/or assessment of new products and services to be offered by Scientific & Competitive Analysis. Obtain and respond to feedback concerning the products and services of Scientific & Competitive Analysis. Work to continually improve the business processes of the Scientific & Competitive Analysis team and of key customer groups.

Qualifications:

BS in a life science; plus MLS/MBA/PhD or equivalent, 5+ years of experience in the healthcare industry with exposure to pharmaceutical product development. Sound knowledge of primary and secondary research methodologies and of information resources pertinent to the industry. Working knowledge of competitive intelligence techniques. Excellent communication skills. Good understanding of copyright law and regulatory environments. Some travel required.
