Description
Our client, a well-established educational company, is looking to immediately hire a Senior Systems Administrator to design and manage a multi datacenter, with hundreds of servers and over 1000 employees. The Senior Microsoft engineer must have a minimum of 5+ years experience in a senior level technical administration role, preferably with high volume datacenter experience. This Systems Administrator position requires advanced knowledge of designing cluster and load balanced server environments in a high transaction datacenter, experience designing and managing large SAN implementations, security experience hardening and managing public web servers running IIS, experience configuring backup environments (e.g. Veritas, Arc server, Tivoli, etc) and experience developing end user communications for large rollout plans. Main responsibilities: Contribute to the vision and direction for tactical and strategic server architecture, perform analytical, technical and administrative work in he planning, design, installation, documentation and administration of all server applications and hardware, Serve as lead technical troubleshooter on complex server hardware and application issues supporting central and branch server performance and availability, maintaining server security architecture and access control, documentation of enterprise server topology and system configuration and perform server maintenance duties (e.g. system log, backup schedules, user accounts, etc.). You will also be responsible for supporting end users as required to provide a positive customer experience including after hour coverage, coordinating testing, rollout, and application of ongoing software patches/upgrades for servers and desktops.
