The Senior Network Administrator (SNA) reports into the Network Operations group of IT Infrastructure and Operations. The SNA is a subject matter expert (SME) for networking in the IT operations environment. He/she provides hands-on support of local-area and wide-area networking, switches, routers, firewalls, security, intrusion detection, SAN, data lines, and network monitoring under the direction of the Principal Network Engineer.

Job RequirementsThe SNA ensures that Network Operations standards are followed, maintains day to day operations, and troubleshoots system failures. He/she oversees and performs administration of the LAN/WAN including switches, routers, and firewalls, performs network monitoring and ensures network security. The SNA also provides administrative support of data lines and SAN equipment. He/she will ensure that performance targets and uptime goals are met and that scheduled maintenance occurs within the standard downtime window. The SNA is responsible for forecasting the service life of assets and software, and budgeting for their timely replacement. He/she will ensure that all network equipment conforms to standards approved by IT Management. The SNA ensures knowledge transfer and redundancy between Network Engineers.
