The position is critical to performing:- Security policy and Risk management adherence and implementation- Design and configuration validation- Product evaluation and selection- Capacity and performance management- Project management and project coordinationThis position is critical to accomplish the below listed 2006 Network Solution Objectives:- ONS / Fiber Expansion Between Summit and Firstide- Fiber Sub-rating between Summit and Firstide- Summit Critical Operations Resilliancy- Summit Network Backbone Replacement Bottom Section The core competencies required for this position are:- Extensive experience (5 years +) in implementing IP routing and Switching Technologies- Extensive knowledge of both Layer 2 and Layer 3 implementations in a highly resilient environment- Extensive knowledge and working experience with the major routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF and BGP)- Extensive knowledge and working experience with Cisco's Best Practices specifically: - Routing and Switching - Layer 3 Core Implementations - DataCenter Design - Campus Design - Configuring and Pruning Spanning Tree- Working knowledge of designing implementations around and taking advantage of: - CSS Load Balancing - Checkpoint Firewalls - Bluecoat Proxies - Global load balancing (3DNS) - QIP DNS / DHCP - VPN / Remote access (AS5350)- Working knowledge of SAN's switching technologies - Brocade preferred- Working knowledge of ACL's and Encryption (IPSec, AES and GRE)- Working knowledge of optical networking (Cisco ONS, DWDM, and CWDM preferred)- Working knowledge of QOS implementations and configurations- Working knowledge of performance monitoring tools and benchmarking tools (NetQOS, OPNet and Sniffer) - preferred- Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP) highly preferred- Excellent project management, customer service and communication skills to interact with users and clients - PMP certification preferred- Information Technology B.S.
