Senior Network Engineer (PA)

• Analyze Local and Wide Area Networks, both internally Company-wide and customer-facing, to determine existing and available capacity
• Prepare reports related to network capacity, circuit utilization, billing, and in response to ad hoc requests
• Design and execute project to augment existing network capacity
• Design and execute lab projects in support of network capacity issues and augmentations
• Mentor less experienced engineering and technical personnel
• Prepare business proposals in support of capacity augmentation recommendations
• Participate in engineering team meetings and project planning sessions
• Provide updates, presentations, and recommendations on the state of assigned duties
• Make recommendations for network upgrades and expansions, and provide input to planning process

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in a technical discipline such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• College degree or equivalent work related experience with a minimum of H.S Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of either CCDP (Cisco Certified Design Professional), CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) or JNCIP (Juniper Networks Certified Internetworking Professional) certification
• Five years experience engineering internetworking equipment in a Service Provider environment
• Five years experience installing/maintaining networking equipment in a Service provider environment
• Experience in a network capacity planning role
• Advanced knowledge of routed and routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, ISIS , TCP/IP, etc

• Master's degree in a technical field
• CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert) or JNCIE (Juniper Networks Certified Internetworking Expert) certification
• Three years experience leading/mentoring technical personnel
• Experience in business process re-engineering
