Description
Come work for one of the largest financial institutions in the Southeast as a Senior Network Engineer. Our client whose culture is based on a strong emphasis on valuing people, doing the right thing and treating others with respect, wants you to join their team though this contract to hire opportunity.

Responsibilities include providing support to Network Engineers and 3rd level guidance and direction for analysis, implementation, maintenance and support of all enterprise-wide LAN and WAN based networks, operations, and performance tuning and capacity management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Install, configure, and optimize and maintain all Cisco Routers and layer 2 and 3 Catalyst switches, Content Switches and other networking equipment.
  • Evaluate, design, analyze, and maintain all WAN transport and telecommunications systems for new and existing sites.
  • Conduct feasibility studies on strategic and tactical network plans.
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd tier support for corporate and campus networks.
  • Develop, support and implement network standards, processes and security to maintain corporate IT standards.
  • Develop, update and audit network documentation.
  • Analyze project needs/requirements and recommend systems to enable enterprise integration of network systems and hardware.
  • Develop, maintain and communicate project plans and status updates
  • Interface with equipment vendors and service providers to obtain system configurations, quoting and support.
  • Resolve trouble tickets assigned to provide exceptional customer service
  • Occasional travel to a variety of locations in the Southeast.
  • Some on-call responsibilities for after hour support as required.

Experience/Skills
Required Skills:
  • BS/BA degree in Networking or Telecommunications
  • 5+ years' experience with TCP/IP
  • 5+ years' experience with Cisco routers and switches
  • 3+ years' experience with frame relay deployed in a WAN
  • 2+ years experience administering firewalls (preferably Checkpoint)
  • Network Associates Sniffer experience a plus
  • Cisco Content Switch experience a plus
  • Cisco CCNP/DP or higher a plus
  • Proven ability to communicate professionally in a corporate environment

Preferred Skills:
  • Prefer individuals with one or more of the following: -Cisco CCNA,CCNP, CCDA, CCDP, MCSE, Active Directory, Catalyst Switches.
  • Cisco CCNP/DP-Microsoft
  • Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)-Certified Network Engineer (CNE)
