Senior Network Engineer

The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking an experienced Network Engineer for our Worcester, MA office.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for providing expert-level architecture, design and implementation services for the enterprise Network. Participating on or leading multiple project teams
  • Instituting enhancement and integration activities, as well as related maintenance and support guidelines for the enterprise network
  • Recommending and creating action plans for advanced-technology strategies

    Requirements:
  • Requires expert knowledge of local and wide area network (LAN/WAN) concepts, design, protocols and topologies
  • Full understanding of IP addressing schema management, segmentation and designs
  • Solid understanding of network security and risks, and the ability to conduct network vulnerability assessments and design solutions to minimize this risk
  • Experience with MPLS and BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) is required
  • Experience in multi-media networks a significant plus
  • 6-8 years hands on experience with Enterasys switches and Cisco Routers
  • 2-3 years hands on design and implementation experience with Unified Communication (Cisco or Avaya IP-telephony)
  • 2-3 years hands on design and implementation of VPN devices, Wireless technologies and load balancing technologies
  • 4-6 years of hands on experience in network capacity planning
  • Strong Project Lead skills and abilities
  • Outstanding ability to create buy-in and negotiation skills
  • Outstanding communications skills (verbal and written)
