Senior Network Engineer

The Network Engineer is responsible for the implementation, support and management of Windows 2003 servers in a 100/1000mb Cisco switched network. The candidate will use their experience working with Microsoft products (DNS, DHCP, and WINS), SQL 2000 and Exchange 2003 to support our Network Operations.

Responsibilities:
• Support Active Directory (DHCP, WINS & DNS) and group policies within a Windows 2003 networking environment.
• Provide remote access support for 285 attorneys and other professionals using Citrix Presentation Server 4.0.
• Install, configure and maintain VMware ESX environment on Windows 2003 network servers.
• Responsible for proactively managing and optimizing Exchange sites in DC and VA offices.
• Configure Cisco switches (Catalyst 3750, 4506 & 6509) on a GB Ethernet network.
• Help define overall network security strategies and procedures.
• Monitor network security to protect against external, internal, and/or programmatic attacks
. • Administer network monitoring software to ensure timely alerts of network issues.
• Coordinate and implement web site setup (internal) and domain updates (SSL and DNS updates).
• Document new systems and procedures and make sure that existing documentation is current.
• Investigate of developing network technologies and provide recommendations regarding the future application of such technologies and the productivity gains to be achieved.
• Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE:
• Windows 2003 server, workstation, and networking experience in a complex, multi-vendor network environment (3-4 years).
• Experience working with Cisco switches and routers (2-3 years).
• Strong knowledge of HP servers.
• Hands-on experience with DNS, DHCP and Group Policies in Active Directory.
• Experience with Citrix MetaFrame Presentation Server 4.0 and Microsoft Exchange 2003 desired.
• Windows 2000/2003 certification (MCSE) desired.
• Experience with VMware in a Windows 2003 environment.
• Experience with network security with Windows 2003 and Cisco devices.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a small team on multiple projects while meeting deadline demands.
• Skills in analyzing a problem, troubleshooting and resolving it, while providing documentation for future reference.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff.
