CLIENT INFORMATION
The client is a small information assurance and management consulting firm located in Columbia, MD.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Network Engineer serves as a technical focal point for network engineering projects.

This position leverages a combination of strong technical aptitude and keen consultative capabilities to drive successful project understanding, customer relationships and project delivery. In addition, this position requires a willingness to mentor others in both technical and soft-skill areas. The person holding this position is a senior technologist with management skills in line with those of a contemporary project manager. The roles and responsibilities of this position include:

Assume responsibility for major technical design decisions and related justifications within the context of defined and client-approved requirements and constraints

Communicate technical design requirements, constraints, functionality, and implementation details verbally and in formal documentation (pre and post-sales)

Design and execute technical proof of concept testing

Develop Detailed Design Documentation

Manage technical implementation of advance network infrastructure projects

Resolve complex technical issues

Provide knowledge transfer to clients and team members

Develop detailed technical support and maintenance plans

Implement project changes utilizing a structured methodology performing appropriate technical testing

Participate in providing 24x7 on-call support activities

Perform project scoping and SOW development for both services and hardware

Create high quality documentation, case-studies and other forms of written deliverables

Perform QA analysis for other team members

Develop technical processes and procedures to streamline project tasks

REQUIREMENTS
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

Five or more years experience with Cisco layer 2 and layer 3 switch configuration and administration as well as hands on Cisco IOS routing and switching experience in the following areas

Spanning Tree Protocol

Routing Protocols to include EIGRP, OSPF and BGP

Understanding of controller based wireless technology

Experience with Cisco VoIP technology is a plus

Security Expertise ??? Hands on Experience

PIX/ASA Platform ??? 3 or more years

IDS/IPS implementation and Tuning ??? 2 or more years

Ability to serve in a leadership role in all assigned projects.

Competent designer of mixed-technology solutions.

Responsible for quality solution delivery.

Act as the resource of last-resort for crisis or design issues.

Comfortable with marketing exposure.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Although not required, the following experience and qualifications are desirable:

Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

Cisco CCIE certification is a plus, however equivalent on the job experience and knowledge with Cisco network devices will be considered.

Additional network certifications are a plus

Active Secret or Top Secret clearance

Bachelors Degreedf-tc
