Description
Senior Network Systems EngineerLocation: Menlo Park, CAJob Responsibilities * Manage and monitor systems to drive troubleshooting and tuning * First and second tier resolution of production issues and alerts * Understand all components of the site infrastructure in order to analyze impact of alarms and other system messages * Resolve errors and alarms quickly and provide timely escalation * Complete tasks required to maintain service levels and availability of all site features and functions * Pager Rotation Duty, responding to pager notifications in a timely manner * Work on projects as directed and needed by company directionQualifications * BS in technical field or equivalent experience * 5 years system administration experience * 5 years Linux administration, setup, configure, troubleshoot, clustering * Solid knowledge of operating system internals, file system structures, and machine architectures in a UNIX and Windows operating systems * Experience with common system administration tools * Working experience with scripting tools, Perl and UNIX shell scripting * Knowledge of relational databases preferably MySQL * Proven problem solving skills with an emphasis on quick problem resolution * Ability to work on many tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment * Basic LAN and WAN network knowledge * Experience with web development technologies like HTML, PHP, XML, XSL, Java * Networking and trouble shooting, Cisco, Netscreen, Switches * VMware knowledge * SAN, Netapp and Hitachidf-tc
