POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is a member of the Operations Engineering Team. The primary job function is to configure, manage and optimize Backup Infrastructures on behalf ofthe companies customers and partners. This position will also evaluate new technologies and develop operational procedures for those technologies.



POSITION DUTIES:

Installation and configuration of client backup and/or monitoring software and hardware
Analyze and optimize Infrastructure performance
Test and benchmark new Software and Hardware technologies
Develop and manage Improvement Programs
Develop Operations Guides and Procedures
Train Operations Personnel
Configuration, testing and troubleshooting of new MSS clients
Direct interaction with customers/partners via phone and email
Scheduled and reactive installation of maintenance, security and application patches
Tier3 support for Network Operations Center
24x7 On-call support for NOC on a rotating basis


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

. Strong experience with Veritas NetBackup or CommVault Galaxy in managing multiple Infrastructures

. Strong experience with analyzing Infrastructure performance and remediation

. Strong experience with Windows, Solaris, Linux System Administration

. Experience with Tape Libraries, Disk Arrays and SAN Fabrics

Experience with Exchange, Oracle, MS-SQL and Active Directory
Experience with Network Configuration Management (VPN, LAN, firewalls, routers)
Ability to create scripts to automate tasks
Strong experience with direct customer support (internal and/or external)
Process and procedure driven
Functions well in a multi-tasking environment
Good verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Should have strong data analysis, analytical and problem solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel and Outlook
Ability to adjust work hours to meet customer/partners needsdf-tc
