The Client Technology organization oversees all technology initiatives that affect the department. Its members liaise with business community to identify and implement technology solutions best suited for the department.
Client Tech is currently seeking a Senior Oracle Application DBA to immediately work on Sybase to Oracle migration project as well as take a leadership in future database improvement initiatives and strategy.
Specific responsibilities of this role are:
Should be well versed with Oracle application level activities dealing with Oracle Database on AIX and should also have the Sybase knowledge.
Implement Data Distribution Strategy, Physical Database Design & Tuning and Perform Data Modeling
Responsible for Database Performance/Tuning/Measurement
Advise on Oracle Application Object Library
Implement Oracle Application Solution and knowledge of Oracle product suite is strong advantage
Implement the better Database monitoring capabilities
Apply Knowledge of High Availability Solutions
Apply Knowledge of Data Migration and Data Models/Requirements - Sources/Targets
Apply Knowledge of Data Mining Techniques & Tools and other Oracle database features into the newly built system as ongoing improvement. eg Table Partition, Data compression,
Apply Knowledge of Data Management Products
Apply Knowledge of Deployment Techniques
All of the above responsibilities are to be achieved through partnership withclient Technology.
10+ years of work experience as Application DBA, including 4+ years on Oracle platform and 3+ years as member of global, multi-tier, technology projects.
Excellent client servicing skills
Good understanding of technology (both hardware and software); ability to assess the validity of a business requirement and provide solution.
Proven communications skills (both verbal and written) to build trusting partnership with business clients, technology team members and other stakeholders to deliver solutions.
Ability to summarize/explain/present requirements and technology solutions in non-technical terms.
Experience with Equity Research business and systems - authoring, financial database, distribution, disclosures - is a strong advantage.
Ability to work within a geographically disperse team environment and positively affect the team dynamics.
Experience in quality assurance of technology projects.
Self-motivated, highly-focused, detail-oriented as well as a team player with high energy levels and the desire to learn and progress within the company.
