This is an opportunity to work in a challenging Oracle 11i Applications and 10g database installation with the latest technologies - Real Application Clusters, Linux, Parallel Concurrent Processing, many third-party tool integrations, and integration with Legacy Systems. You will support an Oracle 11i applications implementation including AP, AR, GL, FA, Order Management on an Oracle 10g 1.5 TeraByte database.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate with multiple development teams and multiple software vendors on issues resolution and capacity planning

  • Mentor and lead a team

  • Perform root cause analysis of problems and provide solutions

  • Pro-active management of Production database systems and risks mitigation

  • Performs other duties as assigned by management

  • Be on-call weekends and nights on a rotating basis with other team members to support 24x7 production systems environments

Experience/Skills
Required Background/Experience

  • 8+ years experience as a Production Oracle Applications and Database administrator with ERP systems

  • 6+ months of 10g RAC experience

  • Must be comfortable performing conversions from RAC to non-RAC instances and vice-versa

  • Good understanding and experience with parallel concurrent managers

  • Strong knowledge and experience on Oracle technology architecture - Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Real Application Clusters

  • DBA-level experience with UNIX administration

  • Demonstrated expertise in:

    • Installation, configuration, support, and upgrade of Oracle 11i (11.5.9, 11.5.10)

    • Oracle 9i and 10g RAC installation and upgrades

    • Performance monitoring, Instance tuning, and SQL tuning

    • Hot and cold backup mechanisms including EMC BCV concepts

    • Mid-tier architectures, specifically 10giAS and Oracle Express

    • OEM, TOAD, and Oracle grid-control

    • Oracle Applications patch management and patch migration processes

    • Instance Cloning (RAC, Non-RAC) and code migration processes

    • Oracle Support processes for technical requests with Metalink




Major Pluses to have

  • Work experience on Linux

  • Experience in using third-party software tools - Sabrix, Opcon SMA, Appworx, Spotlight, and HP Openview
