We have an immediate need for a Senior Oracle DBA

JOB DESCRIPTION
Looking for a Senior Oracle DBA for 5 Months contract job!

JOB DUTIES:
Senior Oracle DBA, with ability to execute Change Requests and troubleshoot production problems in complex environments, on a number of different operating systems and file systems. SQL Server and DB2 experience (1 of 2, at least) is also desired. Environment is unforgiving of errors and mistakes, as these can easily cause production outages. Need strong command-line orientation, Remedy, HP OV, OpsWare, DB Artisian, and Toad are tools employed. Oracle RAC, ASM, versions 9i through 10g are supported, Veritas, Data Guard, raw file system knowledge and experience is strongly desired.
Seeking only senior DBAs experienced in unforgiving production environments; DB2/SQL Server/MYSQL experience is also needed.

Problems are diverse, the most complex, and resolution requires advanced troubleshooting techniques involving complex data analysis. Diversified and complex duties requiring an extensive knowledge of a particular field, the ability to determine the appropriate course of action based on complex and competing issues, the use of ingenuity and judgment to deal with issues not easily evaluated. Incumbent plans and carries out work independently and uses own initiative and judgment to handle non-routine matters and ambiguous issues.
Normally receives only general instructions on new or more complex assignments. Decisions are made independently and are acted upon by self and others. Provides technical guidance to lower level staff and may lead project team(s).
Contact is typically advisory in nature and involves both the exchange of detailed/technical information and providing advice to clients on how to proceed regarding an issue or business problem; typically deals with middle or senior levels of management and/or external equivalents.
Demonstrates extensive knowledge in job-related functional area and of telecommunications technology and the business.
Bachelors degree, or equivalent, and 10 or more years job- related experience.
