Title: Senior Oracle DBA.

Start Date: Immediately

Duration: 6 month engagement.

Location: Downtown Phoenix, Arizona (close to the ballparks)

Rate: Up to $60 per hour (W2; all-inclusive)


Summary:

The Senior Oracle DBA will work in our client’s Data Services group and must be able to perform the following functions:


  • Manage database design, creation and configuration, space management and other database maintenance procedures in a multiple production and development environments

  • Manage the maintenance and administration of the Oracle Databases

  • Design and manage backup and recovery procedures

  • Manage database user and security administration

  • Advance performance and application tuning

  • Coordinate research, planning and implementation of databases and application patches and fixes

  • Plan, design, test and implement upgrades for the Databases

  • Facilitate root cause analysis on problems where appropriate, and identify action items/recommendations to address issues.

  • Maintain documentation and coding standards, lessons learned, best practices, and quality improvement documentation

  • Works closely with the development staff on all issues related to the Oracle Databases

  • Responsible for 24*7 production support on a rotation basis for all oracle databases.



Knowledge & Experience Required:


  • 8+ years Oracle DBA experience

  • Must have experience with performance tuning, database refreshes, new builds, reorgs, backup/restore, capacity management, security, change management and database monitoring & notification in an Oracle 8i and 9i environment.

  • Self-motivated, methodical, require minimal direction, possess strong communication skills, and be a strong team player.

  • Strong Database Architect and Design experience

  • Experience with OLTP and Warehouse Applications

  • Experience with Sun Solaris Unix and shell scripting

  • Experience with Netapp filer
