Job Description

Our client is a leading provider of ASP services to the financial services industry. Their environment includes over 75 Oracle 9i databases running on Red Hat Linux and Solaris. They are beginning to implement RAC and will be migrating to 10G over the next year. They also have about 10 SQL Server databases running on clustered production servers. In the position of Senior DBA, you will perform routine database administration functions including performance tuning, testing, and configuration. Track database capacity, plan for growth and business requirements. Install, configure, and upgrade server software and related products. Implement and maintain database security and procedures. Assist other staff in the design and implementation of database techniques. Perform adequate backup and recovery policies and procedures. Interact with both business and technical users. Evaluate current systems and products for functionality.

MUST HAVE Requirements

1. 5+ years experience as an Oracle DBA on UNIX platforms (Solaris and Linux). 2. Experience with SQL Server. 3. Experience with PERL and UNIX scripting. 4. Experience with Dataguard, RAC, SAN and RMAN 5. Ability to work both independently and as part of team depending on assignment. 6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. 7. Position will require some off hour and weekend support.
