Description
Our direct fashion client in Northern NJ is seeking a Senior Oracle Database Administrator. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and assisting the Senior Manager of Systems Administration Group with the design and maintenance of database system components. Function as part of the Systems Administration team to support the existing technologies and design and rollout new database technologies on Windows, HP UX and HP Tru64 UNIX platforms. Proactively gather business requirements, communicate technical requirements and develop a standardized approach for system support. Will also participate in an on-call rotation with other team members to support all system related issues on a 24x7 basis. Other duties include maintaining the Oracle Database, creating and applying solutions for data privacy, recovery, maintenance, integrity, and space management of the physical databases. Establish application code guidelines, create SCR's and project plans, create and manage projects, budgets and group strategy, develop standards, change control and implement security standards and policies. Additionally, help establish database and security standards, work during weekend and after-hours maintenance windows to apply hardware and software changes, and ensure that best practices and our client's standards are being followed. Will also assist in prioritizing projects and the day-to-day workload, providing proactive communication and enforcing our client's existing best practices policies and procedures.

Required Skills: 8+ years of data processing experience and 6+ years of hands-on technical experience with Oracle 8.x, 9.x, and, 10.x Database Administration experience. Proficiency in design and administration of Oracle's RDBMS and other database technologies; physical data source analysis; design and execution of data extract; transform and load techniques and technologies; physical database design; PL/SQL scripting; database system security, privacy solutions, restoration, backup and replication and clustering techniques; PERL and UNIX SHELL scripting and monitoring solutions such as Oracle Enterprise Manager and HP OpenView.
Proficiency in Windows scripting, Visual Basic Programming, MS Windows/HP UX/HP Tru64 UNIX/Linux server administration, Disk Storage and Logical Volume Management (LVM). Minimum of 2 years experience managing technical projects (preferably in a cross-functional setting). Must have excellent oral and written communications skills and experience in application development environments. Must possess a Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

2+ years of hands-on technical experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and 2005 Database Administration. Experience in managing Backup Systems.df-tc
