Senior Oracle DBA

SUMMARY:
This Lead DBA translates data, applications, and process requirements into database architectures to efficiently fulfill requirements, and supports and maintains these databases and their users.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Designs, installs, configures, troubleshoots, and maintains the database systems.
* Implements, configures, and troubleshoots database instances (eg replication, backup, storage, partition, access).
* Monitors and optimizes system performance through index tuning, advanced database techniques, disk optimization, and other methods using automated tools.
* Sets user privileges within the database environment.
* Establishes and maintains relationships with both internal and external customers.
* Participates in disaster recovery exercises.
* Provides on-call support and consulting services to application and ETL developers, and others; and will encourage consistency across database systems and instances.
* Manages and leads projects as needed.

REQUIRED.QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree (CS or related field of study)
* 10+ years of DBA experience using Oracle (9i, 10G+), Unix (Solaris, Linux, HP-UX).
* Strong Data warehouse experience.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
* Some of the following experience: vi Editor; Korn Shell programming; UNIX Shell scripting; ERWin; Oracle Grid Control; TOAD/SQL Developer; SQLplus; Advanced SQL (tuning); RMAN; OLTP databases; database architecture/data modeling; MS Office and Project
* Strong leadership & analysis skills. Time management and troubleshooting skills important.
* Solid verbal & written communication skills.
