Description
My client, an leading international company has an immediate need for a Sr. Performance and Load Test Engineer. This is a fulltime opportunity based out of their Parsippany, NJ office. The salary range for this position is to $95,000 +/-.

Here is the job description;

Lead the performance and Load test effort with high standard of quality for the projects assigned. Design, code and perform performance tests using Load Runner test tool. Able to create advanced test tools and scripts using java and/or other scripting languages that facilitate certification effort. Maintain Quality and Performance Test Centers
Design, develop, code, and unit test performance and load test features that meet design and functional specifications using Load Runner tool
- Lead the system and performance test effort and serve as principal system / performance test engineer
- Maintain Quality and Performance centers
- Create and Modify Test Plans, Estimate test effort, prepare status and test reports
- Conduct design and code reviews during development/scripting to share knowledge and experience
- Represent the group in cross functional and review meetings as needed and contribute constructive feedback in the areas of expertise
- Troubleshoot Test and/or production support issues and assist the group in problem analysis
- Investigate and create new tools to facilitate certification test effort
- Interface with third party vendors as needed
- Perform research and development in response to business or technical needs of projects
- Identify potential issues in product lifecycle outside development and take initiative in raising and solving those issues
- Able to execute appropriate system-side testing and troubleshoot issues encountered during for each project outside of requirements as needed
- Build, install and fallback software releases and database schemas in lab environments as needed.
- Certify operational deployment and end-user documentation.
- Write advanced tools and scripts to aid certification efforts and simplify operations procedures.

Experience/Skills
- Expertise in Mercury / HP Load Runner test tool
- Create shell scripts and Test tools using Java and C/C++ or other programming languages
- Exposure to Mercury Interactive automation testing tools (QTP etc.,) and Rational Test Tools
- Able to Maintain Quality and Performance centers
- Microsoft Office experience including Access development, VBA coding and Excel macros
- SQL skills to create queries, build tables and indexes as needed - exposure to DBA functions is a plus
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP and routing protocols.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal relationship skills
- Experienced in object-oriented analysis and design
- Development and/or testing experience on multiple platforms including web, client server, Linux and UNIX
- Working knowledge of Open VMS and windows environments
- Performance / Load testing experience with various off the shelf and custom built automation tools, and testing frameworks like JUnit is a plus
- Develop test plans, coverage matrices and test cases
- Experience in data driven testing
- Skilled in the application of related System / Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies
- Highly motivated, self-starter, willing to learn and actively participate in a dynamic team environment
- Demonstrable track record for delivering quality systems on a timely schedule
- Knowledge of distributed systems preferable
- Familiar with software and HW installations with minimal assistance
- Working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies
