Description
The Product Engineer is responsible for providing support and administration to critical production, UAT and IST implementations. The engineer must have a strong ability to multi-task, interact with other HTS & HSBC IT groups, and participate in end-to-end Product Engineering efforts that involve other engineering groups: Network Engineering and Systems Engineering.

The engineer will participate in the Product Engineering on-call rotation, to ensure the eBusiness infrastructure is functional 24x7. The engineer must be experienced with the fundamentals of multi-tier Internet technology, security issues, and UNIX administration. The engineer will assist in installing, configuring, and administering core third party products that contribute to the HTS eBusiness infrastructure that supports : iPlanet, Apache, ATG Dynamo, Websphere, Linux, IBM Portal Server, TeamSite, and OpenDeploy.

The engineer:
--assumes support responsibilities for flagship and high profile projects and products.
--troubleshoots application issues. Identifies the root cause, fixes or escalates the issue to other groups.
--ensures all environments are available and running without any issues.
--configures and administers third party software products as listed above.
--performs product upgrades and migrate product configurations to new environments.
--monitors, manages and performs configuration changes for all environments: IST through production.
--provides onsite production support for critical implementations.
--provides 24x7 on-call application and product support.df-tc

Experience/Skills
The successful candidate will have:

--4-year college degree;
--5 years plus experience in software implementation and administration;
--2 years plus experience as an administrator on a project using ATG Dynamo, iPlanet Webserver, Apache.
--Familiarity with Websphere and/or Portal Server a plus.
--Unix/Solaris;
--Web Server and Application Server configuration and administration;
--Problem solving and troubleshooting techniques;
--Programming or scripting language (C/C++, Java, Shell, JACL/JCL);
--Experienced working in a 24x7 environment and with providing 24x7 support.
