The Edward Jones Information Systems (IS) division is seeking an individual for a Senior Programmer Analyst - Java/Middleware position that will be responsible for developing, supporting, and maintaining business application systems using Java and Middleware technologies.

Responsibilities:
-Utilize web-based programming languages (Java, C, C++ etc.).
-Under minimal direction, analyze, design, code, test, debug, document, and maintain programs.
-Develop and modify complex procedures considering equipment capacity and limitations.
-Formulate and define system scope and objectives.
-Prepare detailed software specifications.
-Mentor less-experienced programmer analysts.
-Assist with interviewing and selection of potential job candidates.
-Provide quality assurance reviews.

Qualified applicants will have:
-Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, or equivalent IS experience.
-Five or more years of software development, support, and maintenance experience in a web-based or client/server environment.
-Experience with Java, Unix, and Message Oriented Middleware technologies such as Tuxedo and JMS.
-Experience with Oracle or DB2.
-Experience with J2EE is preferred.
-Experience with analyzing user-change requests, estimating development efforts, and implementing changes to business application systems.
-Effective as an individual contributor or in a team environment.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Strong ability to multi-task.
-Strong ability to mentor, develop, and lead other technical associates.




Experience/Skills
