xScion Solutions, LLC is a leading professional services firm in the Washington, DC area supporting financial services firms with their consulting and permanent hiring needs. We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Programmer/Analyst (SPA) for an Exciting opportunity with the worlds largest Credit Union. This is a temp to permanent position with one of our current clients. The successful candidate would be an xScion employee for four months and then convert to our clients employment.

The successful candidate will facilitate the completion of projects from their inception to acceptance by the customer. The duties of the SPA encompass both technical and administrative responsibilities. The SPA must have Java/J2EE and Lotus Notes/Domino coding and design experience and must have excellent communication skills.

The SPA must be able to communicate effectively with all members of the project team. Throughout the life of the project the SPA will be responsible for facilitating communication throughout the project team and fostering a cooperative and mutually supportive relationship between all members of the project team.

The SPA will work with the customer and jointly drive the Business Requirements
through to completion. The SPA will ensure that the technical team understands the requirements and has proper access to resources to clarify requirements as neceSPAry.

The SPA is responsible for creating or collaborating on the architecture and/or design for a J2EE and or Notes project. The SPA must be able to understand the Framework for J2EE development and ensure that project designs are consistent with the framework and overall application design principals. The SPA will be responsible for some coding and unit testing. Additionally, the SPA will be responsible for coordination of code walkthroughs with junior developers.

The SPA is responsible for following the Software Development Lifecycle throughout the entirety of the project. In coordination with the section supervisor, the SPA creates and maintains the project schedule and tasks lists. The SPA will work with the section supervisor to ensure the proper alignment of resources and tasks on the project. In coordination with the section supervisor, the SPA will develop, maintain and publish project documentation which includes but is not limited to system architecture, process diagrams and project plans.

Work experience: Minimum qualifications include 6+ years technical experience coding, designing and/or architecting Notes/Java/J2EE applications; 2+ years in Sr. Developer, Technical Lead or Project Management role working with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Skills: Exhibits careful attention to detail. Able to multi-task. Excellent communications, presentation, and organizational skills. Comfortable working independently and as part of a team. Flexible regarding management, design or coding role on a project. Ability to excel in a dynamic environment

Knowledge: Familiar with Notes, Java, J2EE, Struts, Relational or Hierarchical databases and SQL. Strong working knowledge of Source Control Management. Solid knowledge of Project Management methodologies, tools, and SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).
