Description
Concentric Corporation is searching for a Senior Programmer Analyst for a Contract to Hire opportunity in Omaha, Nebraska. This role will be responsible for completing application and data analysis in the development of solutions. Also develops, modifies, tests, and documents software applications to meet our client specifications. Qualified candidates will have experience in participating in technical responses to client requests and will represent systems department to internal and external contacts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Develops problem statements and logic designs.
Translates logic design into executable code.
Tests code to ensure accuracy and adherence to specifications.
Documents program logic to ensure maintainability and usability of applications.
Communicates with management regarding functionality of current application and future design requirements.
Guides others in the development and execution of system level test plans.
Trains Programmers regarding effective problem determination and problem source identification techniques and methods.
Functions as primary technical interface across all departments.
Proposes enhancements to departmental processes and procedures and recommends improvements to operational processes and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
CRITICAL SKILLS:

Knowledge of relational databases and standard software tools to include a strong knowledge of Business Object Designer and Reporter, VB/VBA, Oracle, Oracle PL/SQL.
A good knowledge of Unix Scripts is a plus.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
A good understanding of database warehousing and design.
Good organizational/time management skills.
Ability to work under time constraints and meet deadlines.
Ability to operate a computer, printer, modem. typewriter, copier, fax machine, and other office equipment (especially in a Window NT/2000 and Unix environment).
Ability to adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
Ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization and client technical employees.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to delegate tasks.
Ability to understand the overall goal of the tasks and projects, and to be able to prioritize tasks.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

BS/BA degree in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent work experience required. 5-7 years experience in computer programming required. Minimum of 1-2 years leading a small group of people in projects.
