POSITION SUMMARY

Work independently or under general direction on complex problems involving analysis and
programming. Problems are complex because of diverse sources of input data and multiple use
requirements of output data. Develop a complete description and specifications needed to
enable programmers to write programs. Usually assigned to programming teams to provide
directions and control within the specifications of the project schedule. As required, fulfills the
duties of a programmer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Prepare all required documentation to fully communicate technical design of automated procedures to other technical and management personnel.
2. Gather data for analysis of problem areas.
3. Analyze documents, files and reports related to workflow.
4. Organizes information into accessible work files.
5. Design systems improvements.
6. Design logic for individual programs or program systems.
7. Determine optimum equipment configurations.
8. Define test schedule and test data requirements.
9. Organize and prepare program documentation.
10. Define computer controls and input/output specifications.
11. Consult in all phases of analysis and programming
12. Maintain current level of knowledge and is competent in performing the technical duties of lower level positions.
13. Evaluate proposed changes, conversions or corrections by studying program listings and documentation.
14. Evaluate the structure and flow of data in the system in terms of such things as desired results and available raw data, file organizations based on past and predicted data usage, data formatter for optimal usage and the procedures used for data collection and file maintenance.
15. Determine detailed data descriptions, file layouts and record descriptions, revision of
forms for files and records and the specific calculations to be performed, especially in
the handling of exceptions.
16. Report project progress and task activities.
17. Participate in the development of project estimates and in the establishment of project target dates.

Experience/Skills
3-5 years COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CSP, CICS (preferred)
3-5 years IBM Mainframe (preferred)
2 Years Analysis and Design experience (preferred)
Strong Analytical, troubleshooting, and end user support experience
Experience with software installations across server and mainframe environment
Essbase technical and end user support
Test director, load runner and win runner technical and end user support
Rexx experience
VAG, WSED, Websphere, HATS technical and end user support
Caliber technical and end user support
