Genesis10 in San Fransisco is seeking an experienced Programmer Analyst for a 5 month contract in the Pasadena, CA area.
**Note..W2 only; No Third Parties....US Citizen/Green Card Holder only.

The Project:
The Pubs project is an investment project targeted to replace an aging system used by the Publications Distribution department for managing, ordering and shipping of clients's EOCs (Evidence Of Coverage), DF (Disclosure Forms) and virtually all literature and promotional items within client's organization to its California clients and internal customers.

The Pubs (aka LORIS Rewrite) project entered development in June 2004. The first phase of the project went into production December 2004. The second phase is tentatively scheduled for implementation in June 2005. Current staff consists of One Project / Development Manager, 10 Developers, One Business Consultant. This position will give the chosen candidate the opportunity to exercise the XP/TDD development skills and build a product that will serve an extremely large client community.

The immediate need is for a "senior programmer / analyst" type of individual to provide additional detail to the design phase developed requirements document (i.e. greater detail of the requirements, additional interviewing of the business unit to obtain greater detail to the requirements and / or answer developer questions as they arise). The analysis function will also create, update, and maintain project related documentation per client's standards (i.e. CDP - Comprehensive Delivery Process). Once these analysis activities are complete the individual will provide programming support utilizing the technical skills identified in this req. During the programming activities, this individual may be called upon again to provide adhoc analytical activities on an "as needed" basis. This is a primarily a programmer position with the ability to perform analytical work.

Daily Responsibilities:

*Programming:
1. Senior programmer analyst familiar with Java/Websphere development for an AIX platform utilizing UDB as the database.
2. Should be familiar with TDD (Test Driven Development) and XP (eXtreme Programming) software development methodologies. Familiar with Java, Java distributed objects, Java beans, Java servlets, J2EE, DB2/UDB, JSP.
3. Familiarity with client's-IT Web Portal Services helpful.

*Data Modeling (minor need):
1. Facilitates changes to the delivered Data Model based upon the development efforts of the developers.
Ensures that the development mandated database changes are communicated to IAM (Information Analysis and Modeling) and the DBAs.
2. Ensures adherence to the Data Model as to naming conventions (i.e. tables, columns, etc.).
3. Stay ahead of the curve as to the developers. I.E. anticipate table usages before developers get there and have DDL, etc. ready for their use.

*Analysis (as needed):
1. Interface with business client as required to obtain business understanding, business rules, requirements, calculations, etc.
2. Create, update and maintains requirements document(s) from the this analysis process.
3. Continue analysis activities resolving developer issues and questions as they arise.
