Our client is looking for a Senior Consultant/Project Manager for a 3 month contract to hire position in Annapolis, MD.*Limited local Maryland, VA, DC travel The Senior Consultant/Project Manager must have strong client management skills and extensive experience managing resources through all phases of the software development lifecycle on a variety of professional services engagements. Essential Functions: - Maintains project documentation including plans, schedules and status reports. Communicates project status to clients and management. - Manages project scope and customer expectations. Takes responsibility for project timelines and deliverables. - Provides project leadership throughout all phases of project lifecycle, from initiation and planning phases through production support, including forecasting, setting objectives, and determining courses of action. Plans and prioritizes scheduling and execution based on goals and changing conditions. - Anticipates issues, takes action to mitigate them, and demonstrates superior technical problem solving ability. - Negotiates project issues with customers related to cost, time, and deliverables. - Determines resource needs and communicates requests for personnel, equipment and other resources. - Serves as a resource and mentors for other team members on appropriate client management techniques. Required Skills: Must have strong client management skills and extensive experience managing resources through all phases of the software development lifecycle on a variety of professional services engagements Preferred Skills: - 4 year degree or equivalent - 5+ years of related professional services background, preferably work in consulting for big 4 accounting consulting firms. (Bearing Point, Deloitte, CGEY, etc.)- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. - Experience with java and
