xScion Solutions is an Information Technology professional services firm supporting leading commercial clients in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. We are currently supporting a large healthcare insurance company with some of their key hiring needs and are looking for consultant Sr. Project Manager for a Portability Project.

Senior Project Manager
Consulting through 9/30 with likely extension
Salary: $60 - $70/hr W2 hourly
Washington, D.C.

Must be local to Washington, D.C. and either be citizen or have green card as our client does not provide H1B Visa sponsorship at this time.

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager with a strong background in managing hardware, software, and networking groups. Candidate needs to have experience in working with these groups to perform implementations, and getting people to work together to meet deadlines.
The Portability Project Plan has been built The Senior Project Manager will implement it, getting people to make it a reality. Working from an office in Washington, D.C. the Senior Project Manager will also coordinate with the data center where the hardware currently resides (in Columbia, MD) as well as the target portability site (in Columbia, SC). As with any project of this type, the ability to sometimes navigate political situations is required.
We are looking for someone with at least 10-15 years in this field and well versed in the operational environment.
Also required:
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering or equivalent work experience required. 10-15 years of IT and business experience in strategic planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of systems, preferably across multiple hardware and software platforms.
Previous technical management experience in a dynamic high-technology environment is a key to success in this position.
1) Experience in Mainframe, LAN, and Web/Java environments
2) Demonstrated leadership experience,
3) Solid teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and persuade customers, employees, and management at all levels and thrive in a cross-functional environment.
4) . Excellent oral and written communications; an ability to present and discuss technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding.
5) Strong management, business planning, and development skills.

Possible extension since actual implementation testing is scheduled after this.
