Description


We are currently looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our team in support of multiple software development, integration and operations/maintenance tasks for the Department of Labor. This person will be responsible for planning, controlling, executing, and reporting on multiple software development, integration, and support projects. He/she will be responsible for the identification and development of customer business requirements. He/she will work directly with customer(s) and Program Manager to accomplish overall departmental goals and objectives. The Senior Project Manager will provide leadership and mentoring to development team consisting of project leads, software engineers, database administrators, business analysts and technical writers. This person will also develop, maintain, and enforce internal project management processes and procedures consistent with the Project management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK). The Senior Project Manager will develop Cost Benefit Analyses for IT Investments, develop Risk Management Plans and mitigation strategies as well as develop, maintain, and implement Project Management Plans. Additional duties will include managing meetings, including development of agendas, minutes, action items, etc. Local travel may be required. Additional duties to be assigned as needed.



9 Years Professional experience, with at least 2 years experience leading large (5 or more people) projects
Strong interpersonal skills, customer relationship management skills, and flexibility are a must
Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities
Desired Skills:

Experience with Federal Enterprise Architecture, Software Development Lifecycle methodologies, IT Capital Planning (including OMB 300), and security requirements such as FISMA are a strongly desired
Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute
Experience in Federal IT consulting is strongly preferred

Required Education/Experience/Certifications:

Bachelors degree in a related field, or equivalent, with 9 years of related experience
