Senior Project ManagerLocation: Emeryville, CA, United StatesJob Description:This position will be located in either Emeryville of Santa Clara, CA. This posting is for the Emeryville location. Seagate Services, a division of Seagate Technology, is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager for its Technology Office. This role will drive, coordinate and manage significant, high-profile technology projects across Engineering, Operations and Security teams. As a key member of the Technology team, you will have a unique opportunity to influence and shape the technology strategy. This is a highly visible role, and it offers the opportunity to interact at all levels of the division and the company. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to have a big impact on this fast-growing, cutting-edge business.This position will report directly to the CTO and will be based in either Emeryville or Santa Clara, CA.Imagine Yourself: * Working with engineering and operations groups to coordinate the technical development effort, track/drive the project, and manage the budget and operational implementation process * Understanding business and technical requirements from the teams and drive toward requirements and project development/ delivery schedule * Anticipating bottlenecks, provide escalation management and make tradeoffs; encourage risk-taking behavior to maximize business benefit; identify interdependencies between concurrent IT projects to prevent downstream problems * Gaining consensus on technical decisions, and ensuring that appropriate practices are employed to deliver high quality results * Evangelizing inside and outside the organization to encourage a fast and smooth adoption of the services; being the primary conduit for gathering requirements for future enhancements; developing demos, sample and technical collateral as requiredWhat We're Looking For: * 5-8 years of project management experience * Bachelor's degree is required, higher degree preferred * Computer science / Engineering background highly desired * Up-to-date PMI Certification is desirable * A thorough understanding of software processes (development, configuration, testing, and deployment) * Proven maturity, judgment, negotiation/influence skills, analytical skills, and leadership skills * Solid foundation in service-oriented / hosted technologies to be able to understand service interdependencies for multi-tiered systems is desirable * Strong written and verbal communications skills, analytical ability, and quantitative skills * Proven results-oriented person with a focus on delivery. Detail oriented, yet able to look at a wide array of choices & identify what truly matters * Prior experience as a Software Development Engineer or Technical Product Management with a record of successful delivery of large/complex software systems * Prior hands-on experience in storage and networking technologies * Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Project, and PowerPointdf-tc
