Description
Our client has an immediate need for a SQA Contractor with SS7 experience. Required Skills: SS7, Unix, Win, Oracle, Systems Test Start: ASAP Duration: 3 ? 6 months, contract to perm Compensation: $55-$60 per hour, $80-$85k Location: Bedford, Ma Summary: Involved in all aspects of the SWQA process and to play a leadership role within the QA department. The SWQA process includes the review of requirements documents, the development and execution of test plans, the filing of Remedy tickets and the distribution of the QA release documentation. Regular communication with project managers, development engineers and other personnel is required. Responsibilities: Software Testing Tasks: ? Perform system level testing of new applications and new releases in UNIX, Windows and Oracle environments. ? Write and Execute MGTS PASM, INET and Empirix Hammer scripts. ? Enter and update software bug information in the Remedy software bug tacking system. ? Assist production staff in problem reproduction and resolution. ? Coach and mentor other team members in testing methodologies, test tools and system design and functionality. SW Test Planning Tasks: ? Develop comprehensive written system level test plans for all tests to be performed. Test plans to include a description of the test environment, definition of success criteria and detailed test cases. All test plans to be approved in a team review with QA, Development and Product Management. ? Establish a test environment that closely matches the production environment for the software being tested. ? Establish and manage a project schedule for all assigned tasks. ? Participate in requirements definition to ensure that new releases/applications are testable and to begin gathering information for test planning. ? Participate in design review meetings to gather information to further define test planning. ? Evaluate and select new test tools for use by the Quality Assurance team as appropriate. ? Develop and implement automation strategies to improve test coverage and decrease test duration. ? Represent Quality Assurance in cross departmental meetings. Documentation Tasks: ? Provide development with written documentation of all defects detected during a test cycle. Defects to be classified as low, med, high or urgent priority. ? Document the results of all system testing. Test reports to be completed and distributed in compliance with SWQA process requirements. Test report to include release notes, a completed test plan and a known defect list. ? Ensure all documentation (test plans, test scripts, test reports) is under version control. ? Review relevant SWQA processes and either update existing documents, or write new documents to insure that these processes are well understood.

Requirements:

Requirements: ? Bachelor degree in computer science or related field. ? Demonstrated leadership abilities. ? Ability to work in a SWQA team environment. ? Demonstrated technical problem solving skills. ? Considerable SS7 experience and working knowledge of MGTS, INET and Empirix Hammer required. ? Working knowledge of PERL or SQL for the modification of existing test scripts desirable. ? Ability to work in a highly dynamic and fast-paced environment. ? Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills. ? Ability to understand and communicate technical information to non-technical staff. ? Ability to work in a lab environment. ? Tight deadlines may create a stressful work environment. ? Prolonged testing using telecom voice prompts may be tedious.
