Senior QA Engineer - San Jose

We're looking to add to our team a competent and experienced QA engineer to focus on test automation and running regression tests for the the Flow Control Platform (FCP) suite of products. The product is an optimized route control
device.

Induviduals with work experience from local
technology companies such as NetApp, Packeteer, Peribit, Cisco, Juniper, Extreme, Riverstone, Force10, Procket and Timmetra are very welcome for this opportunity. Once again, network edge appliance experience is very important.

Prerequisites:

o understanding of routing protocols: BGP (OSPF, IS-IS, RIP is a plus)
o understanding routing in the Internet and associated set of issues
o familiarity with C++, C
o knowledge of interpretive languages: Perl (Expect and Python is a plus)
o experience w/ testing network appliances (such as switches, routers,
firewalls, storage devices, etc)
o understanding of x86 architecture and PC-type integration is a plus
o Experience with Linux and BSD derivatives
o Experience with SQL databases is a plus


SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: % of Time:
1. Creating and running test cases. 40%
2. Test harness automation development 30%
3. Participate in engineering design meeting to prepare for testing 5%
4. Documentation of test plans and test cases. 10%
5. Create and maintain technical documentation for internal and customer use, including white papers. 5%
6. Provide technical leadership throughout Engineering. Always
7. Provide world-class service to customers Always
8. Establish, maintain, and enforce Internap standards. Always
9. Represent engineering at meetings with customers. Occasionnal



QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
1. Experience with UNIX-based operating systems 3+ years

2. Experience with TCP/IP networking protocols. 3+ years M
3. Experience with IP and its test/troubleshooting features as it applies to inter-network routing. 3+ years M
4. Experience with TCP/IP network management tools. 3+ years M
5. Knowledge of high speed networking technologies. 3+ years M
6. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex circuit outages. 3+ years M
7. Experience with complex TCP/IP networks which include multiple routing protocols. Knowledge of RIP, OSPF, BGP in a large-scale inter-networking environment. Implementing routing policies through access lists, filters, and AS-Path controls. 3+ years M
8. Experience maintaining and updating firewalls in Cisco equipment, including building and applying standard and extended access lists. 3+ years M
9. Experience with networking hardware and cabling technologies. 3+ years M
10. Experience programming in an administrative language such as Tcl/Tk, Perl, or shell scripting 3+ years HD
11. Experience deploying and operating MPLS and related technologies for Traffic Engineering in a large scale ISP network. 2+ years
12. Experience deploying and operating DWDM and related technologies.2+ years
13. Experience deploying and operating Multicast services in a large scale ISP network. 2+ years
14. Experience deploying and operating IPv6, including v4 to v6 NAT. 2+ years 15. Experience deploying and operating Provider Provisioned VPNs using RFC2547bis, Layer2 over MPLS, VRF, or other emerging PP-VPN technologies. 2+ years
