Kaiser Permanente, parterning with Genesis10 Consulting, is seeking an experienced software tester for a 2-month contract in Oakland, CA.

Job Summary / Responsibilities:
Define and implement test (verification and validation) practices, standards, and processes as they apply to performance testing.
Implement the performance test strategy within the test architecture framework. Input to the test automation strategy.
Conduct risks analysis relative to the key areas performance risk in developing performance tests.
Identify opportunities to control costs and maintain service levels while maintaining an acceptable level of risk.
Build relationships with project teams, mentor and coaching them in conducting effective performance tests.
Participate in upfront application and technology requirements, design and functionality reviews.
Ensure application and technology teams clearly understand the interface between system design and performance test design and how to design for high performance.
Identify and capitalize on opportunities for projects to embrace performance testing that delivers deep coverage and limits deployment risk. - Create Performance Test Plans, Partitioning, and Test Designs and Test automation code.
Translate performance specifications into effective test designs and test cases.
Consult with development and test designers on software and system design which facilitates sound performance tests.
Execute stress and load tests, analyze results and prepared test result reports.
Document tests results and advise on alternatives to improve as warranted.
Input to the Test Center infrastructure ensuring performance test automation systems meet the requirements of projects.
Maintain the performance test automation environment.
Install, support, understand, and use the Performance Test Tools effective

Qualifications:
* 3+ years of Mercury Loadrunner scripting experience.
* Working experience in Mercury's Test Director Tool.
* Understanding of Quality Assurance and testing methodologies with practical experience implementing them in real world situations.
* Strong in QA Processes: planning, scripting, testing and bug tracking.
* Specialized experience in performance testing, including design and execution, for n-tiered and EAI application development and frameworks.
* Technical acumen that provides performance test automation solutions as well as diagnosis and analysis of performance problems which support the needs of projects.
* Background in testing Client-Server and Web-based Applications. Loadrunner Citrix experience would be a plus.
* Experienced in performance testing of multi-tiered distributed applications.
* Strong understanding of relational database technologies (Oracle, DB2 or SQL server).
* Strong knowledge of UNIX and Windows platforms.
* Creative problem solving skills analyzing highly technical and abstract concepts.
* Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
* Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills required.
* Strong interpersonal skill
