This position is for a member of the technical team developing core software applications for electronic commerce sites. This includes responsibilities as a software quality engineer for a client's-server application with an emphasis on UNIX server software, Oracle database, and Web application testing and quality.

This member of the core technology team takes part in the ownership of the quality of software products. CLIENT'S Commerce's on-line retail technology supports rapidly growing business needs to market, sell, and track merchandise sold over the Internet.

Standard engineering principles, concepts, and techniques must be understood in order to take defined objectives and produce quality results. Responsibilities include the design, architecture, and implementation of complete solutions to testing software and quality assurance. Projects are realistically scoped and tracked and the candidate works on more than one project or task at a time. The candidate evaluates and implements quality processes and testing tools.

Specific responsibilities include:

Participate in a small team owning the testing of the CLIENT'S application software and affiliated Web retail sites
Design, implement, and automate processes and tools for database technology and information integrity
Continue to improve the software development and testing process to ensure high quality applications
Contribute to the design and architecture of software products
Work across organizations to establish processes to ensure high quality applications
Provide leadership for and mentor other QA Engineers
Help interpret specifications and guide test plan creation
Review test plans
Own problems in the sites and assist QA members in resolving problems
Manage the testing of projects and work with the Project Management group to ensure the testing adheres to the schedule

Experience/Skills


Proven experience with testing methodologies
Working knowledge of database applications and client's-server technology is required
At least one year of experience leading projects and guiding Quality Assurance Engineers
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
Minimum of four years experience in software development, testing, and quality assurance of software applications
BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field is required, or equivalent experience
Desirable Requirements:
Practical experience with Mercury Interactive's QuickTest Professional, LoadRunner, and WinRunner
Experience with project management
Experience with E.piphany
