Description
Our client is looking for an experienced Sr. Release Engineer to manage their daily and weekly release processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in web/service infrastructure and a strong understanding of software development best practices. This individual will be working with our Engineering and I.T. Operations teams to provide the tools, processes, and support necessary to meet our client's development, deployment, and control objectives. This position is a challenging role working within an energetic group, consisting of talented technical professionals. Experience/Skills
The candidate considered for this position should meet the following qualifications:
-Computer Science or other relevant degree, or work experience equivalent to formal qualification.
-4+ years release management and software version control (CVS a plus) experience.
-4+ years experience supporting/developing Unix and Windows systems/applications.
-4+ years experience programming in one or more of the following environments/languages: PERL, Java, JavaScript, ASP, C++, C#, .NET.
-2+ years providing lead direction for a technical team.
-Thorough understanding of web technologies, architectures, and development best practices.
-Familiar with Change, Release, and Configuration Management frameworks and processes.
-Strong familiarity with software configuration management systems/source code version control systems.
-Ability to work well with developers, test engineers, and non-engineering personnel.
-Good written and oral communication skills are required.
-Ability to work both as a member of a team and as an individual contributor.
-Ability to work in a fast paced environment is crucial.
-Some after hours and weekend support may be necessary.
