Description
What's IT like at Nike? Some things are a given. Like getting to work with the latest applications and technology. And being surrounded by full-time colleagues, not just consultants and hired guns. Around here, you'll push your colleagues to do their best work, and they'll turn around and do the same for you. At the end of the day what matters is being able to use the best technologies to help a great company perform even better.

IT at Nike is over 900 professionals working on the most advanced business applications and e-commerce capabilities in the industry. For instance, our ERP utilizes SAP and Siebel, with SeeBeyond ICAN/e*Gate as the integration layer for all our Supply Chain applications. And that's just one example of the dozens of upgrades and improvements currently underway.

Are you interested in working with a variety of cutting edge technologies? Are you seeking an opportunity to have exposure to both Engineering and Business?

As our Senior Applications Engineer, you'll support Nike's global retail expansion. With your ETL experience, you'll help lead the application development team in all phases of the software development life cycle, including production support. You'll analyze, recommend, review, design, build, test, install, integrate and support a full array of vendor supplied and internally developed systems. You'll also lead your team in adopting, implementing and following standard "best practices" (e.g., SDLC, ITIL). You'll work closely with the QA team to ensure the delivery of quality solutions and the maintenance of a robust production environment. In addition, you'll work in a team environment where you'll be encouraged to express technical leadership, strategic and tactical directions, assist in decision making and openly share information across the team.

Requirements for the position include:

? BS degree in Software Engineering or an equivalent discipline, along with 5-7 years' technical work experience

? 5+ years' experience working in an Application development environment, including working knowledge of software development methodology and tools for component-based, object-oriented development

? 2+ years' professional experience developing with Informatica ETL Tool

? 2+ years' experience on Oracle and using SQL*Loader, PL/SLQ, Oracle SPROCS

? Multidimensional database and OLAP experience is preferred

? Strong understanding of OLTP and multidimensional Database Modeling is preferred

? Experience developing and maintaining metadata repositories

? Experience with Java in a Unix and/or AIX environment is a plus

? Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and technical skills, including the ability to successfully work as part of a team

? Ability to work within a formal project management structure, accepting ownership and accountability for task estimates and deliverable dates, as well as successfully mentoring and coaching junior technical staff

? Knowledge of one or more Retail Business Processes is a plus (Merchandise or Assortment Planning, Allocation, Markdown Management, or General Merchandising)

? Experience working with one or more SAS software packages for Retail - SAS (Marketmax), Merchandise Planning Suite, SAS Revenue Optimization Suite, or SAS 9 Business Intelligence Platform is a plus

? Experience using SAP Retail or Island Pacific Merchandising system is a plus

Have we piqued your interest? Good, then our beautiful corporate campus, incredible resources and generous benefits package will only sweeten the deal. We offer a stock purchase plan, 401(k), a casual work environment with on-site sports complex, childcare and a host of other perks we don't have room to mention here.
